Synopsis

Rufus and Lily suspect something bad about Jenny’s and Damien’s relationship. Chuck learns more about the woman at the cemetery who may or may not be his mother. Meanwhile, Dan and Vanessa struggle with the awkwardness of dating other people.

Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford) and Serena Van Der Woodsen (Blake Lively) still are in the heat of their relationship. Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) has been alone since Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) has been off trying to find his potential mother, Elizabeth (Laura Harring). Chuck broke into Elizabeth’s home and found something proving her to be his mother. While Chuck was off doing this, Nate tries to keep Chuck’s phone away from Blair. Blair eventually got a hold of the phone and listened to a message Elizabeth left on the phone.

Chuck arrives and informs everyone that the woman is in fact his mother. Chuck brushes this off. Since Serena still has feelings over her missing father, she decides to contact Elizabeth for Chuck. She wants Elizabeth to explain herself to Chuck.

Chuck offered Elizabeth money to leave New York for good. She took his offer and left. Serena tracked down Elizabeth. Elizabeth explained that she wanted to give Chuck up for adoption but Bart did not want to do that. Then she decided it’d be easier just to tell Chuck that she had died, so he would never go looking for her. Elizabeth decides to go back to New York, explain the truth to Chuck, and return the money. This inspires Serena to tell Nate about all the issues with his dad. She feared it would distance them, but it brought them closer.

Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen) got in trouble for having Damien (Kevin Zegers) over. Lily Van Der Woodesn (Kelly Rutherford) and Rufus (Matthew Settle) discover Jenny’s pills. Jenny originally confessed the pills were hers before Damien came to the rescue and admitted the pills were his father’s. Jenny decides to run away again. She and Damien share a kiss.

Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) confronted Vanessa Abrahams (Jessica Szohr) about not calling him back. They go to a dorm party and bring fake dates. They end up abandoning their respective dates and hooking up.
