It’s been one year since Bart Bass’ death, and Chuck must deal with an issue from the past, while news a serious car accident ripples through the Upper East Side. Meanwhile, Dan and Vanessa try to work through their complex friendship; and Jenny is accused of beating up a classmate, which puts Eric in a bad position.

Synopsis

On the anniversary of Bart Bass death, Chuck has to deal with some issues from the past and a car accident disturbs the Upper East Side. Meanwhile, Dan and Vanessa tried to stay in their complicated friendship no matter what. Jenny is accused of beating a classmate, and Eric has to decide which story to beleive.

Serena goes with Tripp to his grandfather’s house. Tripp goes to meet with his wife, Maureen, and lies to Serena, saying he is with his grandfather. Maureen still wants to be married to Tripp and they strike a deal. She will not tell Rufus about Lily’s secret if he agrees to stay married to him. The agreement is that she would be with Tripp in public, but in private he could still be with Serena.

Serena finds out that Tripp is lying to her and is devastated. She seeks condolence in Nate, who is there for her. She leaves Tripp’s grandfather’s house and he insists on driving her home. On their way home they get into a car accident. He calls his wife and flees the scene. He moves Serena into the drivers’ seat so it looks like she was the one driving. At the hospital, a furious Nate punches Tripp in the face. Nate stays with Serena in the hospital.

Chuck was in a weird place emotionally because it was the year anniversary of his father’s death. He was pushing Blair away from him. When visiting Serena at the hospital, he got flashbacks of his father’s death and felt very emotionally drained. Blair consoles him, and tells him that he’s better than his father because he is actually feeling things. He takes Chuck to his father’s grave where it seems like Chucks mom was there, visiting the grave.

Eric and Jenny are still at odds with one another. Eric tries to take Jenny down as Queen Bee. By the end of the episode they resolve their differences. Jenny gets into selling drugs. Maureen goes to Rufus with Lily’s letter, before Lily has a chance to tell Rufus.
